CRS conducts Financial Literacy Training for Partners

CRS’ project SUCCESS (Strengthening Urban Communities’ Capacity to Endure Severe Shocks), funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), provided a “Training of Trainers” workshop on financial literacy to four diocesan partners namely Caritas Manila, Diocesan Social Action Center Antipolo, Caritas Kalookan, and Diocesan Social Action Center Malolos.

The workshop, held May 16-19, 2015, equipped field agents to better support local Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC).

Financial Literacy 3 photoThe training has four Objectives to improve people’s knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their personal finances and their family’s finances as well; to strengthen those behaviors that lead to increased saving, more prudent spending and borrowing for sound reasons; to achieve observable and sustained behavior change among participants and; to help CRS Partners, to assist SILC groups learn how to better manage their money.
